![]() Apple Podcast App Software Will FeatureRecent reports suggest that the next version of the Mac software will feature standalone Apple Music and Podcasts apps.It isn’t clear when the standalone Podcasts and Music apps for macOS will debut, but if they’re on the table for macOS 10.15 they’ll likely be announced at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference in June. This is not designed to be user accessible, and the podcast files do not display the original file names. You can, however, drag podcast files from the Podcasts app to the Desktop or to a folder.'Apple's built-in Podcasts app for iPhone and iPad you lets you stream and download all your favorite shows, and discover new ones. You can subscribe, sync, and customize it just the way you like itOf course, there are still the options to share a podcast or open it in iTunes.Tap any podcast that interests you to view a description and list of episodes. Tap the See All Link to view all podcasts associated with your search term. To find a particular podcast by name or topic, tap the Search button and type a keyword or term to best describe the podcast you seek. Tap the Ellipsis icon, and you can sort your podcasts by title, by date followed, by date updated, or by manually moving them around. Once the episode has downloaded, tap the Play icon to play it even if your device is not connected to the internet.After you’ve followed some podcasts that interest you, tap the Library icon at the bottom of the screen and select the Shows option to see them all. Following means that each new episode is downloaded to your device as it becomes available and shows up in your list of podcasts so you can listen to it offline.You can download an older episode of a podcast if you tap the ellipsis icon next to it (or long-press on the podcast's icon) and tap the Download Episode button. Taping the Saved entry shows the episodes you’ve saved. Besides downloading the episode, you can report a concern, copy a link to the episode, share a link to the episode, mark it as play or unplayed, save the episode to the Saved section, play the last episode of the podcast, play the next episode of the podcast, and remove the download.At the left pane of the Library window, tapping the Shows entry displays all your subscribed podcasts. At the window for that podcast, tap the Ellipsis icon next to a specific episode. Here, you can follow or unfollow the show, enable or disable notifications about each new episode, change the order of the episodes from oldest to newest or vice versa, opt to hide played episodes, automatically get downloads of each new episode, limit downloads by most recent ones or by date, and choose to remove downloaded episodes after you play themTap the icon for a specific podcast. From the pop-up menu, you can unfollow it, play the next episode, play the last episode, share a link to the show with someone else, copy the link to the show, or report a concern.From the pop-up menu, tap the Settings icon. Press and then drag and drop each podcast around the screen to reorder them.To manage a specific podcast from your library, long-press on its icon. You can then open a podcast that sounds interesting. Click the entries for Browse and Top Charts to view different podcasts.To find a specific podcast, type your keyword or term in the Search field in the left pane. How to Use the Podcasts App on a MacIf you have a Mac running macOS Catalina or higher, you can use the Podcasts app on your desktop. To automatically listen to the episode that follows the last one you played, tap the Listen Now icon at the bottom of the screen and then select the podcast that contains the episode you wish to hear. At this screen, tap the Ellipsis icon to control how far back to go for the latest episodes.To listen to a specific episode of any podcast, play it from your library. The first time you do this, you'll need to click the Trust button to sync your computer with your device. Open the Finder app and click your device listed in the Location section.
